Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Shelf Exposé app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shelf Exposé ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Shelf Exposé is a food product scanning app that provides ingredient analysis, nutritional information, and company transparency data to help users make informed purchasing decisions. The App is available on iOS devices.

3. Subscriptions

Shelf Exposé offers a free tier and a Pro subscription ("Shelf Exposé Pro"). Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing you agree to Apple's payment terms.

Pricing: Shelf Exposé Pro is $7.99/month or $49.99/year. New subscribers receive 50% off their first year on either plan — $3.99/month for the first year (then $7.99/month), or $24.99 for the first year (then $49.99/year). Introductory offers are available to new subscribers only. Prices shown in the app at the time of purchase are authoritative and may vary by region.
Billing: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's App Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued.
Restore purchases: If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore your Pro status using the "Restore Purchases" option in the app's Profile screen.

4. Accuracy of Information

Shelf Exposé sources product, ingredient, and nutritional data from the Open Food Facts public database. Company lobbying and political donation data is sourced from public government filings.

5. User Accounts

You must create an account to use the App. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at jamesadventuremarketing@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
Use the App to scrape or harvest data in bulk
Impersonate any person or entity
Transmit any viruses, malware, or harmful code

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding in the Shelf Exposé App are owned by or licensed to James Adventure Sales & Marketing LLC (operating as Shelf Exposé) and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, James Adventure Sales & Marketing LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App, including any health-related decisions made based on information in the App.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
